Born on Janauary 16, 1979. Adam is one of two sons of Lee & Marissa Welch.  Adam is the younger brother of Grant Welch.  Adam has lived his entire life in Chatham County and calls Bear Creek, North Carolina  home.  He went to Elementary School at J.S.Waters in Goldston and then attended Chatham Central High School in Bear Creek.  Through his years of school he found a love and played basketball, football, and baseball.  Graduated high school in 1997 and went on to go to Cental Carolina Communty College and went for two years in the Automotive Technology program.  Always a big racing fan, in 1999 he went to a race at Caraway Speedway in nearby Asheboro,NC, and that is when he realized he wanted to be on the track in a car, instead of sitting on the bleachers.  So Adam with the help of his dad decided to build a car for the U-CAR division.  But he had no car, so his brother Grant, gave him his first racecar, then just a regular 1987 Nissan Sentra, that his wife had been driving.  Adam and his dad spent countless hours building and preping the car to race later that season.  They went on to have finishes in the top10 and top5 in that car. So that is how it  all started. From then until now, Adam still races waiting for that first win.  When he's not trading paint on the racetrack, he spends  time hunting, fishing, traveling and hanging out with friends & family...
